It really IS just plug and play!

Works absolutely flawless and the installation is quite easy if you do get the Bluetooth antenna kit. The 4 cables snap easily onto the connections.

The only gripes I have are that the metal plate for the external antenna connection hangs quite loose as there is nothing that hooks it into place and that the included external bluetooth antenna is quite bulky and doesn’t really fit the Mac Pro’s aesthetic. Might get a smaller greyish one as a replacement.

MacPro 4,1 and 5,1 must have to stay current

A must have upgrade for MacPro 4,1 and 5,1 to get AC wifi and BT 4.0. I discovered external BT antenna is a must for handoff to work well. I migrated from 3,1 to 5,1 and needed the purchase to external BT antenna. The factory Apple BT antenna is poor.

    Totally works as advertised

Everything you need to bring your MacPro 4,1 or 5,1 into the modern wireless world. Comes with decent instructions (yay!) but watching a YouTube video or two on the subject is also not a bad idea. Installation is not difficult but requires patience because the antenna connectors are so tiny. My almost-60 year old fingers are not as dextrous as they used to be — some small needle-nosed pliers and a the eraser-end of a pencil came in handy. The external antenna is great — my bluetooth reception has gone from non-existent to perfect.

Keeping my Mac Pro 5,1 current

    Mike Boardley

After playing around with a TP Link PCI-E card for the last two years, I finally broken down and bought this upgrade because my Tp Link card stopped working with the latest MoJave update and I didn’t want to spend days figuring out how to get the driver back. Card came really quick. After a 10 minute install, I was up and running. The range on this thing is excellent. Everything works as advertised. My only complaint is even though OSX tells me unlock with Apple Watch is supported, I cannot get it to work. Other than that, I am totally happy. My Mac Pro is still an amazing content creation and development machine so the $200 is well worth the price to keep it going. Plus, I am now current with Bluetooth and 802.11ac so I have much better range and no longer have to deal with a 3rd party Wi-Fi card. Thank you OSXWiFi.com

Good price, great product... horror show install.

    Rob Pellew (verified owner)

Title says it all really. Its just a very, very confined space tpo work in and unless you have fingers like needle nose pliers, snapping the aerials on is incredibly… lol, let’s go with frustrating. I’ve been repairing both PC’s and Macs since 1996 and this thing had me swearing I”ll admit. As advertised though, it works flawlessly once installed. Just take your time and be very, very patient. Oh and a quick tip… the old bluetooth card is held on by adhesive tape underneath. Pry it out slowly. Mojave ready and grinning now! Thanks OSXWiFi!

My mac pro 5.1 (2010) returns to “social life”, today came to Spain the wifi/bluetooth card (only 6 days and at Christmas, congratulations !!), perfectly packed is installed in less than 30 minutes without problems, from today a/c wifi networks and bluetooth 4.0 (Continuity with Hangoff, etc …) running at the top with others.

My God these cable connectors are small!

    Tim (verified owner)

This is amazing. Works as advertised. Make sure you get the coax cable for the bluetooth. I will say that it is a challenge to install because of the size of the coax connectors. You may need to find someone with really good hands and eyes. I installed it mainly by feel.

Great upgrade for any Mac Pro

    Puck (verified owner)

I had been looking for this kit for some time. Supply from other providers was really fickle. I upgraded all 3 Mac Pros to take advantage of the improved synchronization with iOS devices and give me a bit more speed throughout the home wifi network. I had a small issue with the quality of the male U.FL connection on the Bluetooth extension cable, which you definitely need, but OSXWiFi was quick to replace all 3 extensions.

Just finished installing this, I’m totally impressed. Very clear instructions, easy to install, and worked right out of the gate. I had never worked with the kind of connectors the antenna wires use. Didn’t realize they just snap off and on. Highly recommended product. Shipped fast, works great.

At first I was a little concerned because I had never heard from the company before but, since I really needed the adapter I decided to give it a shot.
