Upgraded Wifi card with BT 4.0 on MacPro 4,1 flashed to 5,1. Handoff was weak to non-existent using factory antenna. After much frustration I decided to up my game with this external antenna setup. Improved range and handoff works 100%. I drilled a hole in backplate of my USB 3.0 PCI card to feed antenna cable rather than use the provided plate and block off a pci slot. I have a MacPro 3,1 also and did not need to use the external antenna, although it could be used for a 3,1 to extend BT 4.0 range.
